Yoga Workshop

30 June 2023 - 02 July 2023

Check-in is between 3 pm and 4pm, check out is at 12 am.
The workshop will take place with a minimum of 4 participants.

Yoga is a physical way to open to a meditative state

The Asana’s, correcting your posture or healing body pain is not the goal of yoga, but a very welcome effect of yoga when you practise it well. The body often is a signpost for what is happening inside, asking for your attention. Next to our physical body, we also have an emotional, an energetic and a mental body. A yoga practice attends to all these layers to be able to deal with the intensity of life, meaning you and the larger whole, being with everything just as it is.

A way of being that is realised through practice

Do you feel the need to move from stress, fear and competition to peace, community and collaboration, arriving at that important point of self trust and sensitivity towards yourself and your surrounding? Arriving at that point of self trust is not a goal you can strive for, it has to do with opening up to the realisation that the little you is an expression of the whole. This yoga practice can help you in this opening.

Asha Meditation

It is possible to participate in the Asharum’s two daily meditations during the retreat, called Asha meditation.
There are two forms of the Asha meditation.
In the first one a regular rhythm is maintained with a rattle and voice, followed by silence. Prior to this meditation, you will be given an introduction and a rattle to join in if you wish. The use of the rattle and voice is a preparation for the state of silence that follows.
In the second form we use a drum to bring you into a meditative state. In this meditation, the drum is also followed by silence. During the drumming you will not participate, only listen.

Yoga teacher Katelijn

Katelijn has a background as a yoga teacher in critical alignment yoga. In this workshop she will give you a detailed explanation of the Asanas in a way that both takes into account your physical abilities, while at the same time challenging you to look beyond your own beliefs. She sees the body as a gateway or bridge to a meditative state. In this workshop she will give you a detailed explanation of the Asanas.

Comments:

I am really impressed with the yoga classes. Clear and interesting explanations. I also really like the pace; calm and full of attention. The personal attention makes it very special. Next time I will definitely join again!
