Breath Meditation Weekend

These weekends start at 5 p.m. on Friday (check in is possible from 3 p.m.) and end at 12 noon on Sunday (with the possibility to check out after lunch at 3 p.m.).

These meditation weekends are especially intended for people who have previously received a Breath from Yoginâm or from someone who is authorized to do so.

The Breath:

The Breath is a tool for Remembering, to ‘Remember’ that you are Awareness; it is your true nature, your source, your essence. Awareness is the infinity of what you are.

This Remembering does not imply thinking about something. It implies realising more and more the Responsibility that it implies. You are naturally responsible for your activities. It is good to know that you are equally responsible, and even more so, for what you think and feel. The Responsibility that comes with Remembering is a gradual realisation that the Task of Human Living is about how, with your living as Experience, you contribute to Awareness. This essence that you are is both infinite and most intimate.

As an instrument for the spiritual endeavour you cannot do much with ‘infinity’. It will always remain an abstract idea. You can however work with its intimacy. This intimacy should not be imagined as a God that lives inside, any image is a closure of what it is, also the intimacy is infinite. It is an ancient wisdom that has discovered that the best way of working beneficially with the intimacy that we represent is by means of the Breath.

With the Breath you enrich ordinary breathing with inner sounds. These are inner sounds that you only sing inside. They never touch the vocal cords and are never communicated. This stresses their intimacy. With the Breath you sing two internal sounds, that are only those sounds, do not attach any meaning to it.

The alchemy that the Breath activates is entirely unconscious. Whatever you feel about the Breath is still superficial and restricted to Experience. Breath touches Awareness, for that reason also you have to receive it in a particular manner.

The Breath is our most powerful tool for practicing meditation.

The Breath Weekends:

By meeting regularly and doing the Breath together in silence through a specific meditation programme in which Breath Silent Meditation, Breath Walk and dynamic meditation partly in the form of selfless service are alternated, the alchemy of the Breath becomes more powerful, which also has a beneficial effect at home where you continue using it.

We don’t do meditation for ourselves. We may also benefit greatly from it ourselves, meditation is intended to contribute in a harmonious way to a whole, to that in which everything shares, including ourselves. Even though we cannot know that ‘whole’ that ‘totality’, we can do our best to contribute to it in a beneficial way. Meditation is such a beneficial contribution and the Breath is the Reminder of that totality what we call Awareness. The Breath is therefore a powerful catalyst in meditation which is actually preparing ourselves to open for Awareness.

These weekends also give the opportunity to exchange. Both people who are new to the Breath and people who have been using this instrument for many years come together here and can inspire and support each other.

When weekends are fully booked we will invite Yoginâm for a live HarpMood through a Zoom Connection. This will give these weekends a powerful extra impuls and makes them even more special then they already are!

8.00 – 10.00 Breakfast

10.00 – 10.45 Silent Breath Meditation

11.00 – 12.00 Dynamic Breath Meditation through ‘selfless service

12.00 – 12.45 Tea break in Silence

12.45 – 13.15 Breath Walk

13.15 – 14.00 Silent Breath Meditation

14.00 – 17.00 Lunch and siesta with space for a walk in nature

17.00 – 17.45 HarpMood and Silent Breath Meditation

17.45 – 18.30 Tea break in silence

18.30 – 19.00 Breath Walk

19.00 – 19.45 Silent Breath Meditation

20.00 – 21.00 Souper

On Friday the meditation rhythm starts at 18.30 (there will be an introduction at 17.00) and on Sunday the programme ends at 12.00.

 

The Silent Breath Meditation:

During the Silent Breath Meditation there is only the bell at the beginning and at the end. In between there is the silence in which you try to make a connection with a particular state.

The Breath is not something that ‘you’ concentrate on but rather something that ‘you’ become.

The Breath Walk:

During the Breath Walk you connect the Breath with walking.

This adds an extra concentration to the meditation, which further limits the space for thoughts, because you move your focus even more. This helps to get into a silent state faster in preparation for the actual meditative state.

The Breath Walk is a powerful way to get into the here and now where all fields of experience can come more in harmony with each other and you become more and more aware of how you are connected to the world in which you share.

During the Breath Walk you keep your eyes open, you keep all your senses open and you become aware of what you experience with the senses, without running along with it, after all, you also keep the attention for every step and every Breath, you do not interrupt this for something you see, hear, smell or feel. It is mainly about a relaxed attitude in all aspects where you can consciously experience that the inner and outer world are one.

During the Breath Walk we use a rhythm between the Breath and the steps. There is the very slow Breath Walk and there are faster Breath Walk variants. In the Asharum in Amonines in the garden there is a special trail for the Breath Walk. In bad weather, the Breath Walk takes place inside in the meditation room. The Breath Walk can be taken individually and collectively, in which case people walk in a row behind a leader who sets the rhythm with a wood sound.

The Breath Walk in Amonines precedes the Silent Breath Meditation and thus gives a powerful extra impulse to this meditation.

Dynamic Meditation

In between the walks and the sitting meditation you are actively doing things. However also then you can often do the Breath and try to stay in contact or remember yourself to go back to this more silent state. During the selfless service we practice this consciously. But of course also when you drink a cup of tea, have a walk in nature, do your dishes etcetera you can practice this as well.
